Vivian & Andy
Storyteller: Vivian Le, USA
"Hey Vivian, he said. Tell me something good. I stared out of the camp at the bright-blue sky and I told him a story of two people. Two people who shouldn’t have met, and who didn’t like each other very much when they did, but who found they were the only two people in the world who could possibly have understood each other… I conjured for him electric skies and iridescent seas and evening full of laughter and silly jokes. I drew a world for him, a world far from the industrial city, a world that he had created for me, full of wonder and possibility."
When did your love story begin?
Our love story began 6 years ago and we started off as friends which I believe is the best way to go into a relationship. I wasn’t interested at first which is why there is a quote in there (top) stating that we started off as two people who didn’t like each other very much.
What was the best moment of your wedding day?
The best moment was saying our vows in front of the tree that we picked out the day before on our safari drive (above). It was very intimate. I kept telling myself not to cry because I didn’t want to look ugly in the pictures, but I couldn’t help it. (Those pics didn’t make it to the album!)
What is your favorite image from your wedding and why?
My favorite image is the one of us kissing right after saying our vows (above). It perfectly captured the moment of happiness and love.
What is your favorite story/memory behind a single shot in the book?
The picture that was the funniest was of us pretending to run away from a predator (above). Our guide told us to jump and pose on a count of 3 and it took so many tries to get us both in the air at the same time.
What do photos mean to you?
Photos are a way to bring back moments and feelings that you had in those moments. Our photographer was Tu Nguyen Wedding Photography and I chose him because I fell in love with his elopement photos. He perfectly captured every couple's everyday moments and love stories in such natural way.
