Natasha & Nathan
Storyteller: Natasha Ward, UK
Here at MILK Books, we feel there's something truly special about seeing each love story captured in print and featured in our MILK Gallery. To highlight one of our recent top picks, we sit down with Natasha, whose wedding celebration was filled with elegance and plenty of emotional, romantic photos. From university sweethearts to newlyweds, their journey together culminated in a breathtaking ceremony in the United Kingdom.

When did your love story begin?
We met at university and started dating from January of 2015! After nearly a decade together, we celebrated the next chapter of our lives by getting married at the stunning Middleton Lodge Estate in North Yorkshire (United Kingdom) in May of 2024. Getting married here felt like the perfect way to honour the journey we’ve shared so far. Looking back, we couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful setting or a more meaningful way to start this next chapter of our lives.

How would you describe the style of your wedding?
Romantic, minimalist and timeless. We wanted to let the natural beauty of our surroundings at the venue shine through in our wedding photos. So, we opted for neutral tones and subtle textures, ensuring everything felt effortlessly chic without being overdone. I think that made our wedding day feel deeply personal to us while also being incredibly beautiful.

What format did you choose for your wedding keepsake, and why did you choose it?
We chose to keep our wedding photos in a Wedding Magazine. A traditional photo album didn’t feel quite right for our wedding, and we wanted something a little more creative and modern to reflect our special day. A MILK Wedding Magazine gave us the perfect platform to showcase everything - the stunning photographs, of course, but also the raw emotions and small details throughout the day. In addition to being a gorgeous keepsake, a Magazine also felt modern and fresh, something we could proudly display on our coffee table for many years.

What is the best photo from your wedding day?
Our photographer was amazing, and we had far too many photos to choose from! Either our front cover shot together amongst the flowers, or one of the black and white photos of our confetti kiss.

What was the best moment of your wedding day?
The best moment of our wedding day was a quiet, intimate moment we shared just the two of us, after the ceremony had ended. After all the excitement, the nerves, and the whirlwind of the day, we found a brief time to slip away to a secluded corner of the venue, where we could breathe, reflect, and just be in the moment together. There, we just sat together, sipping champagne and taking it all in after our wedding ceremony. Everything felt surreal in the best way, and that peaceful moment - just the two of us - was perfect. It was a feeling of contentment, knowing that we had just taken this incredible step in our journey, surrounded by our loved ones.

What is the best story or memory you have behind a single shot in your Wedding Magazine?
One of the best stories behind one of our photos was the moment we walked into our wedding breakfast. As we entered the room, we were immediately hit by a sense of pure happiness and love, and the emotions hit us like a wave. There was a moment when everything seemed to slow down, and it felt as if time had paused just for us. The laughter of our closest family and friends filled the room, and we couldn’t help but be overcome with gratitude for everyone who had come to celebrate this moment with us.

What does your wedding keepsake mean to your loved ones?
In many ways, it’s a gift to our loved ones as much as it is to us. It captures our special day so wonderfully and it's something our families will treasure forever! Every time they flip through its pages, they’ll be reminded of our wedding and the incredible memories we made together.

What inspired you to preserve your wedding photos in a physical keepsake?
We were deeply inspired to preserve our wedding photos in a physical keepsake because we wanted to create something tangible that would serve as a permanent, lasting reminder of our unforgettable day. There’s something incredibly powerful about holding a physical object in your hands - something that you can revisit over and over again, allowing the memories to come to life every time you flip through the pages. In a world where so many of our memories are stored digitally, we felt that having our wedding photos in print would make them feel more real, more present, and more meaningful.

What bit of advice would you offer for someone creating their own MILK memento?
My advice for anyone creating their own MILK memento would be to truly take the time to carefully curate something that feels deeply personal and meaningful to you. Don’t rush the process - this is a keepsake that will preserve some of the most precious memories of your life, and it’s worth putting in the effort to make it as special as possible. The extra effort you put in will make it even more meaningful, and you absolutely won’t regret the time and thought you invested into making it truly one-of-a-kind.
From their romantic and minimalist style to the quiet, intimate moments that marked the best parts of their celebration, this wedding was an authentic reflection of Natasha and Nathan's love. By choosing a MILK Wedding Magazine as a keepsake, they’ve ensured that the memories of their day will live on in a format that’s as timeless and personal as the love they share.
For anyone planning their own wedding keepsake, their thoughtful advice on curating something deeply meaningful serves as a wonderful reminder of how important it is to preserve these precious memories in a way that feels as unique and beautiful as the day itself.
