What format did you choose to create your keepsake and why?
We chose a Honeymoon Magazine for our keepsake because of the beautiful wrap-around cover option, which really made it feel special. The continuous cover allowed us to feature a panoramic shot from our honeymoon safari, which perfectly captured the essence of the trip. The magazine format also gave it a modern, sleek look, while still being lightweight and easy to flip through. It’s a fun, stylish way to relive those memories and share them with others!
Why did you create your keepsake?
We created our Honeymoon Magazine to capture the magic of our honeymoon safari—an experience that felt truly unforgettable. It was such a life-changing trip, and we wanted to hold onto those incredible moments, from the stunning landscapes to the amazing wildlife. The magazine helps us relive those memories and share them with friends and family. It's not just about the photos, but about keeping a piece of that adventure with us forever.
What is your favorite image from your keepsake?
My favorite image from our keepsake is from the morning we stopped for a bush breakfast. Everything aligned so perfectly that it felt like it was straight out of a dream. As we set up for breakfast, we glanced out and saw zebras and water buffalo lined up perfectly in the distance drinking from a pond, almost like they were staging the moment for us. The soft morning light made the scene even more incredible, and we couldn’t resist capturing it. That shot brings back the feeling of being surrounded by untouched nature, enjoying a peaceful meal in the wild, with wildlife casually grazing in the background. It’s one of those moments that felt too perfect to be real, and the photo takes us back every time we look at it.
What is your favorite story behind a single shot in the book?
One of my favorite stories behind a single shot in the book is when we were on the lookout for the elusive leopard. We had spent hours tracking, with no luck, when suddenly we heard a squirrel making an alarm call. Our guide pointed out that animals like squirrels often alert the presence of predators, so we followed the direction of the squirrel’s nose. After quietly moving closer, we finally spotted a young leopard, draped across the branches of a tree, perfectly relaxed yet watchful. The moment was surreal—after searching for so long, the encounter felt like a reward for our patience. We managed to get the perfect shot, capturing the leopard’s calm yet powerful presence against the backdrop of the bush. It’s one of my favorite memories and the photo reminds me of the thrill of that unexpected discovery.
What does your keepsake mean to you and your family?
Our keepsake means so much to us—it’s incredibly special. I look at it all the time, not just to reminisce, but to relive the thrill and adventure we experienced on our journey. Every page brings back the excitement of the moments we shared, from tracking wildlife to those serene breakfasts in the bush. It’s more than just a collection of photos—it’s a reminder of the adventure, the bond we strengthened, and the unforgettable memories we created together. Having that book keeps those experiences alive and allows us to share that excitement with friends and family, making it something we’ll cherish forever.
What inspires you to take photos in general?
I’m inspired to take photos because they capture moments that are fleeting and allow me to hold onto those experiences forever. It’s a way of freezing time, whether it’s an incredible landscape, a special celebration, or a small, everyday moment that might otherwise be forgotten. I love how a photo can tell a story without needing words, and how it lets me revisit emotions and details I might have missed in the moment. Photography also gives me a creative outlet, encouraging me to see the world from different perspectives and find beauty in unexpected places.
What inspires you creatively?
I’m creatively inspired by a variety of things, but it often comes down to a combination of emotions, experiences, and the beauty I find in the world around me. Travel is a big inspiration—new places, cultures, and landscapes spark my curiosity and drive to capture unique perspectives. I’m also drawn to the way light interacts with different environments, whether it’s the soft glow of a sunset or the dramatic contrast of shadows in an urban setting.
What bit of advice would you offer to someone creating their own MILK memento?
Quality over quantity is key; sometimes less is more when it comes to creating an impactful keepsake. Pick the photos that best represent the experience and resonate most with you.
